MAP 7 - Pokey Dub, River Eamont
PLEASE NOTE: Access to the right bank between markers 36 and 38 in this area is achieved by wading across the river from the left bank only, THERE IS STRICTLY NO ACCESS ACROSS FARMLAND FROM THE TIRRIL TO POOLEY BRIDGE ROAD TO THE FIELDS BETWEEN 37 AND 38 ON THE MAP.
When fishing on the right bank from the fields between 37 and 38 it is strictly catch and release only.
Pokey Dub: 31 to 38 (5770 yds)
Parking at P1 (What3words - sprint.wizards.stint): From Junction 40 (M6) take A66 to next roundabout, then take 4th exit (A6 Shap), go through Eamont Bridge then turn right onto B5320 for Ullswater. Go over M6 then turn right into Yanwath, follow road bearing right and carry on under railway, park on the right before cattle grid - please do not obstruct gate.
Parking at P2 (What3words - schematic.domestic.mainland): From Junction 40 (M6) travel west on the A66 for Keswick, take the first left after the railway bridge, then bear right before turning left into Redhills Business Park on the left. Please do not park in the Business Park, park on the right before the gate, but do not obstruct the gate.
Parking at P3, P4 and P5: From Junction 40 (M6) travel west on the A66 for Keswick, at the next roundabout take the A592 for Ullswater. P3 (What3words - routs.flipper.correctly) is on the grass verge on the left just after a small road approx. opposite Stainton turn off. P4 (What3words - dent.darts.mammals ) is a few hundred yards down on the left on a gravelled area at the end of the crash barrier - please do not block the gates. P5 (What3words - whispers.built.monkey) is at the bottom of the hill after the Stainton turn off and as the road straightens, park in the lay-by on the right hand side.
