Map 19 - River Leith
Directions for Parking at P3 and P4: From Junction 40 (M6) take the A66 to the next roundabout, then take the 4th exit for A6 Shap, stay on this road for approx. 1 mile, through Eamont Bridge and take a left for Cliburn.
From this junction follow the directions below for each parking area:
P3 (What3words - upward.commented.deployed): Travel towards Cliburn, through Clifton Dykes and taken the 2nd right for Lowther and Melkinthorpe, carry on this road and take a left into Melkinthorpe, go through the village and on your right you will see a dirt track that takes you down to the ford that crosses the river, park in the field just across the river. This is a concrete ford and is easily crossed in low water, however the association cannot accept any responsibility in relation to the use of the ford and any such use is at ones own risk.
P4 (What3words - flitting.represent.frogs): Travel towards Cliburn, through Clifton Dykes and taken the 2nd right for Lowther and Melkinthorpe, carry on this road and go past Melkinthorpe then take a left for Great Strickland, stay on this road and park just over the bridge, this parking area is small and will only take one car.
