Map 18 - River Leith
Directions for Parking at P1, P2 and P3: From Junction 40 (M6) take the A66 to the next roundabout, then take the 4th exit for A6 Shap, stay on this road for approx. 1 mile, through Eamont Bridge and take a left for Cliburn.
From this junction follow the directions below for each parking area:
P1 (What3words - gent.animals.flippers): Travel to Cliburn, at the crossroads turn right, go to the bottom of the hill and Cliburn Bridge over the Leith. park on the grass verge on the right.
P2 (What3words - reference.sisters.rant): Travel towards Cliburn and take the 4th on the right for Great Strickland, park on the verge on the left just before the bridge that crosses the Leith.
P3 (What3words - upward.commented.deployed): Travel towards Cliburn, through Clifton Dykes and taken the 2nd right for Lowther and Melkinthorpe, carry on this road and take a left into Melkinthorpe, go through the village and on your right you will see a dirt trackthat takes you down to the ford that crosses the river, park in the field just across the river. This is a concrete ford and is easily crossed in low water, however the association cannot accept any responsibility in relation to the use of the ford and any such use is at ones own risk.
