Map 8 - Upper Eamont and Dacre Beck
PLEASE NOTE: Access to the right bank between markers 36 and 38 in this area is achieved by wading across the river from the left bank only, THERE IS STRICTLY NO ACCESS ACROSS FARMLAND FROM THE TIRRIL TO POOLEY BRIDGE ROAD TO THE FIELDS BETWEEN 37 AND 38 ON THE MAP.
When fishing on the right bank from the fields between 37 and 38 it is strictly catch and release only.
Upper Eamont and Dacre Beck - Dalemain (approx. 9240 yds)
Directions for parking at P5, P6, P40, P41 and P43: From Junction 40 (M6) travel west on the A66 for Keswick, at the next roundabout take the A592 for Ullswater and for:
P5 (What3words - whispers.built.monkey) is at the bottom of the hill after the Stainton turn off and as the road straightens, park in the lay-by on the right hand side.
P6 (What3words - plot.shun.schematic) Travel past Dalemain House on the right and just past Dalemain House park on the verge on the right hand side (metal railed fence) close to a gate on the right hand side (BEWARE OF TRAFFIC)
P40 (What3words - haircuts.twisty.guitar) Carry on past Dalemain House towards Ullswater and approx 100 yds past a small layby on the left park on the left near a swing bridge over the River Eamont.
P41 (What3words - amuse.revives.commoners) Carry on past Dalemain House towards Ullswater and, just as the road bears right away from the river, park in a small lay-by on the left hand side next to the river.
P43 (What3words - booklets.frail.musical) Stay on the A592 towards Ullswater, at the junction turn left for Pooley Bridge and just before the bridge turn left into a Fee Paying car park.
