Map 1 - Anthony Holme, River EdenN.B. Please follow the arrows on the map and stick to the field edges  when accessing and leaving the river - DO NOT WALK OVER THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD.

 

Bell Holme: Great Salkeld (425yds single bank only) Winter Grayling fishing is allowed.

(What3words - chuckle.pesky.depths): From Junction 40 (M6) take A66 to next roundabout, then take 2nd exit (A686 Alston), follow this road for 3,8 miles and take a left onto the B6412 for Lazonby, go through the village of Great salkeld and just outside the village take the first right for Eden Lacy, after approx o.5 of a mile you will see a gate on the right marked P.A.A. You can park opposite the gate (What3words - quaking.kennels.cultivation ), but do not block traffic, or if you have a suitable vehicle (4 wheel drive) you can go through the gate and down the track into the nest field close to the river and park in the fenced off area at P1.

(What3words - boom.dockers.prancing): From Junction 40 (M6) take A66 to next roundabout, then take 2nd exit (A686 Alston). Follow this road to Langwathby and take the first left just before the Shepherds Inn, follow this road until you come to Little Salkeld and at the top of the hill turn leftonto a road marked 'No Through Road', follow this road down, past a farm and keeping left, go through the gate in front of you (please close it after you if it is closed) and down to the underpass and railway, there is parking just beyond the underpass, no more than 4 cars to be parked here and please park sensibly to leave the farmer access to his fields. Walk down the track and through the gate in front of you. ANGLERS MUST ONLY USE THIS ACCESS AND WALK AROUND THE FIELD BOUNDARY, THEY MUST  NOT WALK STRAIGHT ACROSS THE FIELD TO THE RIVER.

Briggle Beck (390yds)
P3 (What3words - bluntly.cutlets.flickers): Directions as Anthony Holme but after turning left at Shepherds Inn travel 1 mile and park on verge at beck near access road.
